Joey Martin
Born and raised on the Peninsula since 1994, I’ve called this area home for decades. It’s where my wife, kids, and much of my extended family reside, and where we’ve built a network of friendships, businesses, and memories. My real estate journey began at the age of 21, when I purchased my first home. Since then, my wife and I have shared a passion for buying, selling, and remodeling homes, as well as managing both commercial and residential rental properties. Real estate has always been a part of my life, and now I’m thrilled to bring that passion to Hutchison & Company.
Professionally, my career spans more than 20 years in in corporate America, with roles in telecommunications engineering, construction, operations, project management at Verizon (Verizon Wireless) spanned over 18 years. Currently I support our Nation as an employee of Newport News Shipbuilding leading multiple Information Technology teams that support building amazing Aircraft Carriers and Submarines providing freedom to our great nation and allies. These roles honed my skills in providing exceptional customer service, communication, follow-through, leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving—qualities that translate seamlessly into real estate. My diverse background and extensive local knowledge provide a strong foundation to serve clients with care and dedication.
When I’m not diving into real estate, I love staying active. Whether I’m at the gym, running, or enjoying a game of softball or golf, I’m always on the move. My wife is the owner of Thread Perfection, a beloved local embroidery, screen printing, and graphic design business we started out of our home in 2006. It’s been a staple in the community ever since, just like the family businesses owned by my father and siblings. In my spare time I support Stephanie’s amazing shop!
Joining Hutchison & Company was an easy choice—Bubba has been a close friend since high school, and his leadership and success in real estate are truly inspiring. I’m excited to learn from his experience while bringing my own strengths to the team: a vast network of local connections, a genuine love for helping people, and a knack for making others feel comfortable and valued.
